These high points often align with periods when audiences are more engaged—early summer brings increased activity and free time, while autumn marks a return to routines and more consistent phone usage. Conversely, the lowest engagement typically occurs in March, a time marked by post-holiday fatigue, fewer events, and reduced content consumption. Following this dip, impressions gradually climb toward summer, during which the impressions fall again due to vacations.

Which day of the week has the highest impressions?

Instagram story impressions show clear variation throughout the week, with Sunday consistently delivering the highest performance. Weekends tend to offer audiences more free time, which often translates to increased scrolling and story engagement. Mid-week days—particularly Wednesday and Thursday—also see strong performance, as users fall into a routine and engage more regularly with social platforms. In contrast, Saturday typically records the lowest impressions, likely due to people spending more time offline and less on their phones.

Instagram story impressions fluctuate significantly throughout the day, with peak engagement typically occurring around 15:00 UTC. Additional strong performance is often seen during the late morning and early afternoon, aligning with common breaks and mid-day downtime. In contrast, early mornings and late evenings tend to show lower engagement, as users are either just starting their day or winding down. These trends reflect typical daily routines, where people are most active on social apps during lunch breaks, commutes, or moments of pause.
